Description:

Following the success of the converted cargo ship Methane Pioneer two large gas carriers were built for the Arzew to Canvey Island service. Second of them was Methane Princess completed in 1964 and managed by Shell. In 1981 she was laid up in the Fal and, apart from a brief reactivation in 1988, seems to have stayed there until 1997 when she was delivered to breakers at Alang. I believe she is at the Tilbury repair berth.
