Yes John, awesome potential in that set-up. The Captain was telling us he specifically asked the Pilot to tell the Tug to merely stand-by.....as he wanted to get alongside unaided as an experiment ....But maybe the Tug Skipper thought he would not get paid if he did not actually assist! And as I say, I have photos of the Rudder in action...albeit at a mere 60° or so! Would have made an interesting post on here I think. Better luck next time.
I certainly enjoyed my visit...it was nice to meet with Filipinos again: Sailed with them for many years: Excellent people. A joy to work with.

Hi Steve, sorry about the loss of the other photos. Indeed, we live and learn! Regarding the manouverability I was surprised to be told by the skipper when I was on board that he could actually turn her around within her own length without the aid of tugs due to the rudder set-up and thrusters. Quite impressive! Different skipper to in your shots, an older Philippino chap who'd worked his way up through the company. I really got the impression that Gearbulk are a good outfit to work for.

Thanks for the Info John. Yes, I had a shot of the IMO painted in the steering flat....but can't find it. Bad news on the Engine Room Shots: all at Email size.Also the shots of her coming alongside using that awesome 70° Rudder...almost a stern thruster.... A DOH! Moment indeed.
The captain downloaded hundreds of photos "During Build" onto a pendrive of mine, but he got it wrong somehow & they all failed. You live & learn eh?
I'll have a go at editing the IMO No. in....I'm new at this so don't hold your breath!

Hi Steve, yes post them up! The Oshima built ships are amongst the best. Did you know they will only build for owners that they know and trust, not just anybody can order one. By the way, the IMO No. is 9385489.
