Description:
F/B AGIOS GEORGIOS - Santorini - June 2011
Ferry AGIOS GEORGIOS (since 2015: PANAGIA TINOU) moored at Athinios/Santorini.
My pic No. 100, hope you like it. It just has to be a greek ferry :-)) The AGIOS GEORGIOS is one of the most well-known classic ferries in Greece and always worth a trip.
Sadly she is idle this year due to the financial difficulties of her owner VENTOURIS SEA LINES.
Let´s hope the best for the future of this certainly nice and special greek ferry!

COMMENT THIS PHOTO(5)
hope these were GOOD memories and you enjoyed your trip/stay :-) Sounds most interesting, in any case.
Sadly these classic ferries are a "threatened species" these days, even in Greece...
I made a trip with the AGIOS GEORGIOS to neighbour island Ios this day. It was a really nice and relaxed trip with only a few passengers onboard. Really enjoyed it :-)) And quite a contrast to the modern, mostly overcrowded BLUE STAR vessels...
Thank you very much for your nice and interesting comment.
Regards
Florian

...and a fine comment of an all time classic greek photographer... :-)) :-))
Agree with you in all the three points, you mentioned :-)) Thanks for your nice compliment!
@ Henry:
Many thanks for your very nice words… Makes me a little proud... :-))
Agreed: Santorini, probably THE location for (passenger) shipspotting... The scenery is very spectacular indeed.
Taking photos there always feels fantastic and somehow exciting!
To both of you a fine weekend.
Best wishes
Florian
