Description:

James Fisher's Leven Fisher basking in the Cumbrian sunshine, in Whitehaven Docks, in the long hot summer of 1976.

Built Burntisland SB Co., delivered 11 January 1962. 1980 laid up in Barrow and in 1982 sold to Syrian owners and renamed Haj Hassan. On 29 August 1987 she had engine problems when on a voyage from Galatz to Tripoli. She was towed to Tartous, laid up and declared ctl. But two years later she was repaired and renamed Allah Kareen, trading until 1994 when she was again sold and renamed Doja, again under the Syrian flag. She met her end the following year when she foundered in shallow water on 23 July 1995 near Kertch-Enikalskiy Channel, Sea of Azov after leaving Taganrog with a cargo of glass and wood pulp
