COMMENT THIS PHOTO(1)
after searching my bookshelfs from right to left and bottom to top without success I only can add the following to this foto: "Santa Ursula" on its maiden trip to the La Plata leaving Hamburg on the 5th of April 1951.
She was the first of 4 sisters.
I have seen the foto in another book but cannot find it. All I found is a brief note in the book "Kurs Südamerika" written by Otto J. Seiler and printed in 1996. Verlag E.S. Mittler & Sohn.
The other sisters were "Santa Elena", "Santa Catarina" , "Santa Isabel". The design was based on the pre-war "Belgrano" class but built under the restrictions of the Petersberger Agreement.
Hoping that these infos are of interest to the shipspotters I remain with BR
Jürgen
All we have to find now is someone who knows the location of the other foto on a river
