Thanks both.
The tanker is a puzzle, unless the superstructure has been removed for some reason prior to scrapping (quite a few were sold for domestic scrapping in the mid-1970s)

The ore carrier closest to the camera is one of the three ORE T. ships, with 70000 DWT significantly larger than the other one, which is a 50000 DWT ORE (Planet) ship. There is also a San Juan (Marcona) ship visible, which, what looks like a self unloading system on the deck.
The T2 tanker is in Sealift colours, so it could be a conversion done for military purposes.
Also visible is the stern section of a Gotaas Larsen bulker, and a three island tanker with red masts, but the stern section is blocked from view by the Marcona ship.

The two Navios ships were both owned by Daniel K. Ludwig's Universe Tankships Inc., and fourteen were built 1954-1961 by the Kure Shipyard that Ludwig leased.

There are some interesting ships with INDEPENDENCE. Can anyone put names to the two 12-hatch Navios ore carriers, and expacially to the foreground tanker - looks like a T2 with bridge/superstructure removed?
