Thanks for the update. I hope there will be a solution soon the build the new ferry fast.

The plan was to replace the MV TUSTUMENA as soon as 2019 (http://www.alaskajournal.com/2016-08-24/tustumena-replacement-accelerated-fy2017-funding#.W95cNPZFwWI) but apparently the steel to build the new one got caught up in the US-China tariff fight. The Alaska Government has been seeking a waiver but I am not sure how that is going.
