I saw that ship sometimes in Cartagena and before Puerto Cabello. They brought livestock from the Belem area in Brasil. Looked always nice painted, but one agent mentioned to me that they had constant problems. Seems like was true.

In a violent storm which broke lose in the Mersin region on Jan 15, 2019, at 10 a.m., the "Wardeh" which was anchored near Mersin port since April 10, 2018, dragged anchor and drifted aground about 500 meters off the coast. It was listing to starboard side, being pounded and battered by heavy surf which broke over the decks. There were two watchmen on board. The Turkish Coast Guard rescued them by helicopter in the morning of Jan 16 after the wind force decreased. They were taken to the Toros State Hospital for a checkup and then released. The ship which was owned by a Lebanese company was to be sold to a Syrian company but it was not in operation because the transfer could not be completed. In recent years it was active in the South American livestock trade. A 2016 inspection in Cartagena found a wide range of deficiencies, including issues with her fire pump, main engine, lifesaving devices and MARPOL compliance. A followup in 2017 at the same port found additional issues, including several fire safety deficiencies related to firefighting equipment, alarms and means of escape.
