Builder: Vickers-Armstrongs (Shipbuilders) Ltd., Barrow-in-Furness

Engines: 2 x Pametrada double-reduction geared steam turbines, total 65,000 s.h.p. by Vickers-Armstrongs (Engineers) Ltd., Barrow-in-Furness
Original service speed: 27.5 knots
Delivered November 1960 as passenger liner “Oriana” for Orient Steam Navigation Co. (passenger capacity: 638 1st class, 1,490 tourist); operator P&O-Orient Lines Ltd (the 2 companies had merged during 1960)
1965: ownership transferred to Peninsula & Oriental Steam Nav. Co.
1971: management & operation transferred to P&O Passenger Division
1973: changed to operating as a an open-class cruise ship for 1,640 passengers
1986: sold to Daiwa House Sales Co., Osaka; moored at Beppu (Oita Prefecture) as a tourist attraction.
1995: sold to Qinhuangdao Harbour Authority, converted for use as a museum, moored as such at Qinhuangdao Port, Hebei Province
1998 November: sold to the Hangzhou companies.
2002: sold to owners in Dalian, Liaoning province, & put on display there.
2004 June: badly damaged during a storm
2005 May: arrived at Zhangjiangang, Jiangsu province, for scrapping
