Description:

Reardon Smith's 'West Lynn' at Manchester sometime between 1928/31.
Renamed Willamette Valley in 1931. Taken up by the Admiralty at the start of the war and used as a 'Decoy Ship' or - .
as they were know in the First War - a 'Q' Ship. Sunk by U51 in the Western Approaches . More here

Photo from my grandfather who was her C/E between 28/31. He was one of three family members to sail with Reardon Smith & Co. between the wars.
