Description:

Seen passing Portishead, inbound for Avonmouth exactly fifty years ago today, on 15th November 1971, was the Cunard S.S. Co. Ltd. (until 1968 T&J Brocklebank)'s 1963 A.Stephen, Glasgow, built MAHOUT during a voyage from Calcutta to Avonmouth and Liverpool.

Later: 1978 AGLAOS - 80 EVAGELIA S.

On 11.9.1982, at the end of a voyage from Constantza to Bandar Khomeini,she was extensively damaged during hostilities, either being struck by Iraqi bombs or exploding a mine, and stranded 25 miles off Bandar Khomeini.

Subsequently refloated, she was towed to Bushire and confiscated by the Iranian Authorities.
