Description:
The first steps of Evergreen into leaving the regional trades. was set with the introduction of the V class of which seven were made. The class had a capacity of just over 1200 TEU, comparable to the TFL ships that were also employed on world wide trades. Three ships were made by the Hayashikane shipyard, later owned by Evergreen. Two came from Onomichi and the remaining duo was made by China Shipbuilding.
Shown here is Ever Value, (Hayashikane #854) outgoing from Rotterdam, early eighties.
