Description:

Japanese bulker MIYAHATA MARU is here seen passing Shimonoseki in october 1991.
This vessel was built 1976 at Uwajima, and is a special type of bulker, as she is designed as stone-carrier, which also may explain her special cargo-handling equipment on deck.
In 1995 she was sold to Taiwan-owners, and placed under Panama flag with name shortened to MIYAHATA.
On 18 november 1998 she was on a voyage from China to Keelung, Taiwan with gravel, when she sank in the Taiwan Strait.
All 10 persons on board lost their life.
