Description:

Liberian bulker NORMA is here seen anchored in the Mississippi River in november 1976, while waiting to come to loading-berth.
This bulker was built 1949 at Sun Shipbuilding Co, Chester, Pa. as Panama tanker SOVAC PEGASUS, being renamed MOBIL PEGASUS in 1955.
In 1964 she was bought by greek owner Niarchos and placed under Liberia-flag as WORLD MEMORY. Also some of her sistervessels were then bought by Niarchos.
In 1967 she was heavily rebuilt, and this tanker was then transferred into a bulkcarrier, with her midshiphouse now moved aft.
In 1971 she was sold to the Taiwan-based Eddie Hsu group, and renamed NORMA, still under Liberia-flag.
And in january 1978 NORMA arrived at Kaohsiung for B/U, which commenced in june same year.
