Moin Volker, glad you like this type of vessel. Many of them are shuttling between France and some mills in the South of the Netherlands trading cereals. Since a number of waterways and locks in Northern France are very small only these Spitsen (also called Freycinets) can operate on these canals. So the future for these little workhorses seems to be guaranteed and that's a very good thing in my opinion :-)

ANCILLA had discharged cereals at Weert/Province of Limburg and was seen travelling to the north on 27-06-23.

Have a nice week too, mien fründ, and enjoy the shipping on Kiel Canal.

Best wishes to both of you, Hans
