Does the lighthouse keeper lives there inside the lighthouse? it looks very solid build for a situation like that.

Hi Stefan, the lighthouse was manned until it was automated in 1975.

I always loved to see that light in the late night/very early morning! A warm "Welcome back" too me.

While visiting Norway, it was the light and timings that started messing with my head. For example, when it was almost midnight, it was still light. I didn't expect that at this time of year.

Depends on the time you see her Matt. I offen saw the light, but not the tower.

Admirable considering the house was built in 1867. I'm just wondering if the house can withstand a storm. Thank you for posting. Brgds DDGHANSA

Your welcome :-), The ligthouse was renovated about 10 years ago due to weather damage that has occurred over the years, here is an article from a local newspaper in Norwegian with a lot of photos: https://www.firdaposten.no/bildesamlingar/bilde-stabben-fyr-blir-renovert/g/1-53-6095609

It is impressive though for 156 years and hasn't been destroyed.

That's brilliant that you can stay on it. Like when I used to rough it as a youngster in the Youth Hostels. Although these days I need a supermarket within at least a mile of me. This could make a great apocalyptic movie setting. You book in for a week so they drop you off, then no-one comes back to collect at the appropriate time and your stuck there with your offspring (the stuff of nightmares!! ) until you either swim or your skeletal remains are found 3000 years later by an alien species who want to move in on the planets natural resources and in doing so find no resistance BUT are curious as to the previous occupants. So they take samples of our DNA and begin to resurrect us so they can enslave us and assimilate us into their collective to serve the greater consciousness. Sorry, I went off on a tangent there. Still, you know what kind of movies I enjoy, haha,
