Keel laid on 27/07/1976, launched on 07/01/1977, & completed on 02/03/1977, by Bijlsma Lemmer Scheepswerf, Lemmer, Netherlands (360)
1,598 g.t. & 3,120 dwt., as:
'Carebeka IX' to 1983,
'Elsborg' to 1988,
'Artemis' to 1994,
'Elsborg' to 1996, and
'Swanland' until the ship foundered in a position 52.52N, 5.05W during a laden voyage with limestone, in rough seas, from Llanddulas, Wales, while en route to Cowes, Isle of Wight, England.

Six Russian seafarers lost their lives in this tragedy.
There were two survivors.
Five of the victims bodies were never recovered.
