Shell Bermuda (Overseas) Ltd (formerly Eagle Tanker Co Ltd)'s 1959 Smith's Dock, Middlesborough, built tanker SAN ERNESTO had called at Avonmouth on 6th October 1963.

In this photograph taken at Cardiff, possibly shortly after Richard Parsons had seen her, she was painted with a red funnel and yellow shell.
