Description:

The dredger Black Gem alongside Northwoods at Fareham, near Portsmouth, in August 1983. I understand they changed her name from Sand Gem to Black Gem because she was converted to dredge coal off the seabed.

Hi Yvon - I have just posted a couple more photos of her where you can read read her name a bit more clearly.

Hi Yvon - I took two photos of her that day and the other photo shows more of her name - it is definitely Black Gem.
