I absolutely do not believe that the Portuguese and Spanish authorities refused to allow a ship in distress to enter port without a very good reason. We will certainly never know the truth about the type of cargo the ship has in its hold. The fact that the Cadiz authorities finally agreed to let this ship enter the port was probably due to interventions at the highest level. The ship carries the Portuguese (Madeira) flag, but only people who have no knowledge of shipping would believe that such ships have any real connection with the home port and the flag country. Who knows what the reasons were for the decisions made in Sines and Huelva. The reasons must have been security and political. Are such decisions justified?
a threat to your own safety? Definitely yes .

Unfortunately her maiden voyage did not go well at all: https://www.maritimebulletin.net/2023/10/25/german-freighter-after-cargo-shift-refused-shelter-by-portugal-and-spanish-ports/

She was finally able to leave Cadiz bound for Rauma, Finland on November 18.

Thank you for this Aleksi. It seems strange why she would be refused shelter.
