Description:
SUNHILL, a C1 type built at Beaumont, Penn. in 1942, was photographed sailing from Avonmouth exactly sixty years ago today, on 23rd March 1964.
Long term chartered by Saguenay Terminals of Canada from Norwegian owners Lundegaard and Sonner of Farsund, SUNHILL was the ex-CAPE PORPOISE-46, ex- BOWHILL-55. Sold to Greece in 1967, she briefly traded as SPETSAI until suffering engone trouble in January 1968 on a voyage from Norrkoping to Port Sudan, put into Lourenco Marques on 3rd March 1968 and eventually arrived at Kaohsiung in April 1969 to be broken up.
