Cariddi has been transferred from Owners to "Provincia di Messina" (Messina County Authority) on 1992 with intention to use as floating museum , and put in lay-up close to private ferries berth at Messina but on 14 march 2006, Cariddi sunk for very bad hull condition in the same lay up position.
