In more recent years this boat along with several others from the RNLI's fleet along the English Channel coast has been involved in the controversial task of rescuing asylum seekers in difficulty. In a world of ever widening political views however, it is reassuring that international organizations such as maritime rescue ones can come together with a united purpose. This was evident with lifeboats from many countries attending the RNLI's 175th anniversary sail past and will doubtlessly again be apparent when the RNLI host their 200th anniversary sail past at Poole in just two days time.
