A very nice shot of one of my favourite former party locations... Alas, there are no parties anymore on board Cap San Diego.
I got a nice photo series of her as she arrived from Cuxhaven on July, 11.

Thanks for this, well I did not know that there are parties onboard, it did look to me like a true museum and well, a good place to have lunch to, as well and an overlook on the port. It's anyways one of the better looking museumships I must admit :-D And recently I read that they also have hotel-rooms onboard, for those who like to have it a bit special !

Cap San Diego could be rented for special occasions. But the party days are gone :-( ... But yes, you can stay overnight on board, that's correct.

Parties and cargo-ships just don't mix :-D :-D :-D it's club-style cruising a la AIDA nowadays ..

Now I don't agree with you... With the right people and the right mood a party on board Cap San Diego could be quite funny and exciting. Cool music in the background, a drink on deck, and a full moon above the harbour... This club-style cruising to me sounds like animation 24/7. For me, that's to much :-o

Psst.. for me it's also too much so I am not going to do that, don't worry and I have a dislike for ships with a too glittery interior, like it classic and simple ! The best ships though, do have Danish pastry onboard, Danish sill fish, Tuburg and Carlsberg (one per evening) and I get you know which ships I do talk about, having a certain cross in their funnel ! :-D

Classic and simple, that's it!
Hm... the fish is not a must-have, but certainly the beer is...
"Having a certain cross in their funnel"... this turns out to be embarrassing for me... the Red Cross? No... a cross... Chandris/Celebrity? I'm at a loss :-o

Haha, the Red Cross giving out beer aid for stressed out employees in Hamburg. Oh yes the good old DFDS, they have left Hamburg, I did take many trips on the "Prince of Scandinavia" from Hamburg to Harwich, they are the Danish company with their white cross, and nowadays it's just Amsterdam-Newcastle, and the cruise-terminal where DFDS used to go from, is abandoned. The "Prince" and the "Hamburg" - later "Admiral of Scandinavia" were true party-ships too and they offered cheap train-trips together with their tickets too :-D ! Memories..

Oh my, I thought of cruise liners... The problem is, I have never been on a vessel bigger than, let's say, hm... Kloar Kimming (ex-Westerland). Butterfahrten...
The old DFDS-Terminal is going to be reactivated, though. For cruise liners. I read that somewhere in the newspapers lately.
