Beats me why there are hundreds of photos of Atlantic Conveyor II, and so few of the original on this site....The fact that the original was sunk in a war 30 years ago?
The replacement is pretty ordinary. (in my view.) And none of the Atlantic Causeway, which also served in that war: No mention at all on here.
Both the originals were interesting concepts as ships, with their stern access for vehicles & ramped access to upper decks & capable of loading double-decker buses.
I sailed on Causeway on her scrapping voyage to Kaoshiung: 55 days at 7 knots!
For that voyage she was "re-named" ATLANTIC...i.e., they merely painted out "Causeway"!
That's re-naming on the cheap! (although sticking "NEO" between names come pretty cheap too)
