A good place for passenger carrying ships which can´t be describled purely as Ferriers or cruise ships, is Passenger Vessels maincategory.

Thanks for advice, I'll move it to that category ! Does not serve the Ro-/Ro part of it, but to be hones I even didn't know that it is classified as a Ro/Ro vessel after all.

Hi Cornelia,

Thanks for the nice picture. Equasis should have known better. The Fram is a real cruise ship and has nothing to do anymore with the coastal "mail service" for which Hurtigruten is famous. Midnatsol and Nordnorge, to name a couple of well-known ships, are still ferries with car-carrying capacity.

I found this description on the Choosing Cruising website:

Fram is the latest Hurtigtuten coastal ship designed for expedition cruising. It offers a high degree of comfort in the public areas and panorama lounges. Unlike the rest of the fleet it is not a working ship or car ferry and carries no day passengers. Fram passengers tend to be 50+ and European and some Americans. When all cabins have double occupancy, the ship provides a space ratio of 38.7 tons per passenger and a crew to passenger ratio of one for every 2.2 passengers. At full capacity the space ratio is 38.7 tons per passenger and the crew ratio is one to 2.2 passengers.

Choosing Cruising is a wonderful website, with links to many companies and ships (all with description and at least one picture).

All the best,

Anton
