What a classic Derek. I always think of Hansa ships as having heavy lift Stulckens but this one was obviously prior to that age. She had a good innings though!

Pity the camera was a duffer, or was it the photographer.
Still a nice ship. I had seen her under her original name, in the days when I had no camera at all! She certainly lasted well. Got fed up posting new ones so have delved in for a few classics. More to come!

Yes the oldies are great Derek. And the best ones I saw were before I had a camera too! I used to log them all down in my notebooks.... but just wish I had an image to scan when I look back at those notes!

Me too John,
In the late sixties Felixstowe was host to many C3's of US Lines.
Also several from the US dept of commerce.
What I would have given for a camera then!

Derek

There's a photo of this ship in her original guise of FREINFELS already on the site.
As an old geezer, I did have a reasonable camera in those days! But film was so expensive (to me) that I was very sparing in the number of pics I took. Aye, it was hard times, right enough even though you did get eight Dutch Guilders to the pound!

Hi Bob,
Did not know there was one on here, don't get much time to browse.
Yes I remember to when Guilder were 8 to the pound!

Derek
