With a Doxford 67J4M engine by Doxfords and shipped to Argentina. Sister ships Almirante Storni, President Ramon de Castillo, Dr.Atillio Malvagni, Liberatador General Jose de San Martin, Neuquen. along with Robb Caledons three, Salta, Ju JuyII and Tucuman, these were the only SD14s with Doxford engines. Pickergills Armadale was not strictly an SD14 it was bigger at about 18,000dwt, but it did have a Doxford engine. "M" in engine type is for metric when Doxfords had finally decided to manufacture all engine components to metric units of measurement. They had always used metric for engine building but pipes and fittings were always imperial units, probably because most of the English suppliers of these parts worked in imperial measurements. For reasons unknown, the AFNE yard numbers related to Doxford engine contract numbers were changed during the building of the engines.
