I saw the Mobil Lube in March 1973 from the deck of the USCGC Cherokee as the lone survivor of the Norse Variant was airlifted from her.

Was that the same blizzard that the Norwegian flagged MV "Norse Variant" a handy sized bulk carrier, was lost with all hands with one survivor?
To tired to look it up on the net....

IACSman,

According to the info. on Miramar, the NORSE VARIANTbroke in two 38.00N/72.24W - 22.3.73. So I guess it was an earlier storm.
