Owners: Viceroy Shipping Ltd, Monrovia, Liberia. Operators: Southern Star Shipping Co Inc, New York (George Coumantaros). Flag: Greece.
Built: 1964 by Nippon Kokan KK, Tsurumi Shipyard, Yokohama, Japan. Yard no. 796.
Main engine: eight-cylinder, two-stroke Mitsui-B&W 8-84VT2BF-180 of 16,800 bhp at 114 rpm. Speed: 16 knots.
Built for Anders Jahre, Norway as JARELSA.
1973-sold/renamed BUENA ESPERANZA (as photo).
1983-sold/renamed ESPERANZA II.
1984-damaged by aircraft-launched missile south of Kharg Island 13/5.
1987-renamed XYLOS.
1997-renamed EMMENTHAL then hulked and broken up Gadani Beach, Pakistan.
